Association of Latvian Environmental Science Students (ALESS) in cooperation with Ministry of Environment Protection and Regional Development (MEPRD) is organizing an opportunity for every student to get acquainted with MEPRD structure, staff, everyday work and environmental policy document creation process. The goal of this event is to show students MEPRD as their potential employer and make them interested to participate in creation of environmental policy documents.

ALESS emphasizes that this is the opportunity where you can make sure that Ministry of Environment Protection and Regional Development is accessible for every student and is full with responsive people who gladly will consult and answer any question regarding environmental policy.

Programm:
1. Structure of MEPRD
2. Everyday work in the Ministry - what are the tasks and who works there
3. Opportunities for joungsters to get involved in Ministry work
4. How the policy documents are being created? Maris Klismets, Head of Politics Coordination department
5. Development of Environmental policy. Rolands Bebris, Head of Environmental Protection
6. Development of climate and renewable energy resource policy. Department of Climate policy and Technologies.
7. Present issues in environmental science and education. Conservation of biological diversity and Genetically Modified Organism free teritories. Eriks Leitis, Senior consultant of Species and habitats protection section in Environmental protection department.
8. Development of environmental protection policy. Daiga Vilkaste, Head of Environmental protection department.
