Number of students enrolled in the Environmental science program Environmental science students in academic year 2011/2012:
- Bachelor study program (1st, 2nd, and 3rd year) – 84 students (66 from state budget);
- Master study program (in 2 years) – 72 (61 from state budget);
- Doctoral study program – 22 students.

- 18 bachelors, 17 of them continue their studies in RTU Environmental science Masters study programme
- 32 masters, 5 of them continue their studies in RTU PHD programme "Environmental engineering"
Student participation in the development of study process
Student participation in the development of study process is comprehensive. Bachelor program students participate in the study development process in three ways:
- Practical works in framework of study courses such as „Environmental Management Systems”, „Climate Technology Theoretical Aspects”, and „Heating Systems” are made on the basis of the student group performance analysis;
- Students are regularly invited to seminars and conferences involving master program students and professors;
- Students develop their Bachelor theses analyzing real projects.
Master program students participation in the study development process is comprehensive:
- Master students supervise practical works for bachelor students;
- Students are regularly invited to seminars and conferences bringing together field experts and professors;
- Informational materials that are prepared in presentations are further used in the study process;
- Practical works are organized in form of simulation games, calculation works, field trips. Students write reports and work out recommendations for improving energy efficiency in the visited companies;
- Students develop their Master theses through research and analysis of real projects, objects, situations and conditions.
