Goal
The main goal of Bachelor study program is to prepare wide profile and high qualification experts with integrated first level academic education with system dynamic thinking. They are capable to evaluate the environmental technologies and successfully participate in bringing them to life.
Tasks Bachelor study program foresees to teach and develop:
- understanding about system, its entirety and interaction between the elements;
- knowledge and skills to analyze and evaluate processes, technologies from engineering, economic and ecologic point of view;
- knowledge and skills to create materialistic and intellectual values in Environmental Science;
- understanding of environmental management systems, standard ISO 14 000, environmental management and audit algorithms, eco-certification, eco-marking etc;
- understanding of the environmental activities in boards of regional environment protection committees, municipality councils and economic enterprises, and to take part in their actions;
- skills to conduct scientific research and give consultations regarding climate technologies and heating systems;
- skills to use computer programs necessary for scientific and educational work.

The goal of Master degree study programme is to prepare wide profile and high qualification experts with 2nd level academic qualification and system-analytic thinking, who are not only able to follow the evolution of environmental technologies, but also are successfully taking part in establishing environmentally friendly technologies and promoting evolution of climate technologies with high added value.
Tasks
Master study program (through lectures, practical and laboratory works and independent studies) foresees to teach and develop:
- deep understanding about system, its entirety, interaction of elements and process causation;
- ability to analyze and evaluate complicated processes and technologies from engineering, economic and ecological point of view;
- the knowledge and skill to create high quality materialistic and intellectual values and apply in environmental science;
- to understand and use environmental management systems, quality standard of environment ISO 14 000, environment management and audit schemes, eco-certification, eco-marking etc.;
- understanding of the environmental activities in boards of regional environment protection committees, municipality councils and economic enterprises, and to take part in their actions as much as possible;
- ability to conduct detailed scientific research and to offer valuable consultations regarding climate technologies and heating systems;
- educational skills in higher education institution;
- ability to use computer and complex software in scientific-research and educational work.

Goal
The goal of Doctoral study programme is to prepare wide profile and highly qualified environmental experts with integrated academic education and system dynamic thinking. They are able to conduct and lead scientific, production and educational work.
Tasks
Doctoral study programme foresees:
- conduction of scientific work on chosen topic
- during lectures, practical and laboratory works, individual studies acquire enhanced theoretical knowledge using fundamental and applied science achievements
- acquire skills to conduct highly qualitative scientific research by using modern research methods, give consultations regarding climate technologies and energy supply systems
- acquire skills to lead and develop sustainable development processes in energy and industrial sector and respective institutions
- facilitate implementation of research methods in production and environmental management systems
- develop educational skills

For A block courses the planned studying time is 616 lecture hours (wich is 48% of all the study period), 384 practical hours (wich is 30% of all the study period), 280 laboratory work hours (wich is 22% of all the study period). All students have to make 8 Course papers, have to pass 18 exams and 9 tests.
Course block B are Limited choice courses. In total it is 36 ECTS, which is made up by 16 specializing (28.5 ECTS), foreign language (4.5 ECTS), 6 Humanities courses (2 by free choice) (6 ECTS). Study time depends on chosen courses. All students have to pass 6 exams and 8 tests.
Block C are free choice courses, in total it is 6 ECTS.
Final examination is Bachelor Thesis on the 6th semester. In improved study program it is 15 ECTS.

This master degree study program was approved on 28th of February, 2000 (program code EMXO). In year 2005 course „Bio-hydrogen. System analysis” was added to the Masters study program.
