We hereby invite you to the workshop "Green Energy Roads in Latvia: from Technological Solutions to Policy", which will be held in the Hall of RTU (Kaļķu Street 1) on 14 of December at 9:00. Among the guest speakers will be Daniels Pavļuts, Minister of Economy.
The workshop will be opened by H.E. Mr. Jan Grevstad, Ambassador of Norway in Latvia, and Leonīds Ribickis, rector of RTU. The workshop consists of three different sessions - Green Energy Policy of Latvia, The Modelling of Energy Policy, Technologies and Businesses in Energy Sector.
The first session of the workshop "Green Energy Policy in Latvia" will be devoted to green economics and the energy policy of Latvia. Participants will hear presentations from Einārs Cilinskis, Member of Parliament, Daniels Pavļuts, Minister of Economy, and Reinis Āboltiņš from the Centre for Public Policy PROVIDUS.
In the second session, "Modelling of Energy Policy", professors from Riga Technical University and Bergen University will provide insight into systemic thinking. They will present on the modelling of energy efficiency policy using the system dynamics approach. They will answer to questions: how to model the situations, how to analyse and forecast the development.
The third session of the workshop "Technologies and Businesses in Energy Sector" is planned for practical examples and success stories of enterprises in the fields of development and business of renewable energy technologies in Latvia. Linda Ozola, Advisor at Norwegian Embassy in Latvia will talk about EEA/Norway Grants as financial mechanisms of Green Energy development. There will also be a number of green energy businesses presenting on their successes and challenges in the Latvian context. The workshop will be concluded with a discussion about the possibilities for cooperation in energy sector between enterprises from Norway and Latvia
